Ladbrokes to Cut Call Centre Jobs

November 20, 2009 -- UK Bookmaker will shut down its Aintree call centre with the loss of 263 call centre agent jobs.

Ladbrokes says the closure is a consequence of competitors who enjoy tax advantages by using offshore call centres.

A company spokesperson said:

"UK-based telephone-betting operators like Ladbrokes are being severely impacted by competition from offshore operators that enjoy significant tax advantages."
